Mehdi Hassan:Shahenshah-e- Ghazal passes away





KARACHI - Shahensha-e-Ghazal and great singing legend of Pakistan, Mehdi Hassan after a long period of ailment passed away here on Wednesday.


Mehdi Hassan’s son Arif confirmed the news and said, “My father has been ill for the last 12 years but this year, his condition deteriorated significantly and in the last one month, he was released from hospital for just one day before being admitted again.” Aga Khan Hospital for the last one week.


 Mehdi Hassan  was born on July 18 ,1927 in a village called Luna in Rajasthan, India into a family of traditional musicians. 


Some of his popular Ghazals include "Patta Patta Boota Boota" and "Rafta Rafta Wo Meri Hasti Ka","Ranjish hi sahi","Zindagi main to sabhi"


Arif hoped the process for his father's treatment would be expedited, adding that Delhi's Fortis hospital had also contacted them.

  1. Really its a sad news ......Mahdi Hassan sahib was the king of Gazal Gayaki. May his soul rest in peace. He will always be remembered with his heart touching voice. We will always mis him......:(
